Source: British Cyprus Memorial Trust Pte Michael O'CARROLL is one of the 371 British Servicemen who died on active service during the four-year Cyprus Emergency April 1 1955 to April 18 1959, and whose name is among those remembered with honour on the British Cyprus Memorial. Serving with the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry he was accidentally shot dead on guard duty on October 17 1956. Aged 19 from Banbury Oxon he is buried at Wayne’s Keep, the British military cemetery in Cyprus, Plot 11 Row A Grave 3.
